Tribute to Nyack Center & its 25th Anniversary – August 2015
Too many times in our lives we look for instant gratification, be it going to Starbucks for a coffee or watching our favorite team (the Yankees) win a game. But other times we have to understand that it takes time build greatness and we must be willing to push out instant results for long term success.
And I think that Nyack Center is just such a place, it serves as a cornerstone to what we hold so dear; our children. Raising a child is lesson in patience. When we look back and we wonder where the time has gone. They go from a tiny child we hold in our hands to dropping them off to college, but in those 18 years we spend countless hours ensuring there grow into good people.
Most of us only do that for our children, but the Nyack Center does it for all of our children. They ensure that the children in our community are fed and nurtured. They have a multitude of programs to help each child that walks through the doors providing a feeling of safety and love. They are taught to respect and to help others. They are provided food and help to ensure their success in school and their lives after they have graduated.
In an all too familiar quote “Children are our Future” and the Nyack Center helps all us and our collective future.
The Nyack Center is truly a gem in our community to be treasured just as we treasure our own children.
